Waves & Frequencies: Electroacoustic Explorations

On 30 March 2025, Carlos Hidalgo and Beat Keller will kick off the Zurich Jam Session at L200.

Join us for an exciting Sunday evening at L200 for the upcoming Zurich Jam Session, featuring two Zurich-based artists, Carlos Hidalgo and Beat Keller. These musicians are set to present their unique approach to improvisation, where they blend their expertise in composition, performance, and free-form musical exploration.

Electroacoustic composer Carlos Hidalgo brings his mastery of the semi-modular synthesizer and electronic sounds, creating rich, evolving textures that draw from a wide range of influences. Meanwhile, Beat Keller explores the sonic possibilities of both the feedback-driven electric guitar and the acoustic guitar, crafting intricate layers of sound that range from delicate harmonies to intense, distorted noise.

Together, Hidalgo and Keller will create an expansive sonic landscape, with moments that move from subtle, atmospheric passages to powerful, immersive soundscapes. Their collaboration promises to be an exciting journey into the world of sound, exploring everything from free-flowing harmonies to deep explorations of noise and distortion.

This session promises to push the boundaries of what we expect from a jam session, offering a space for both musicians and listeners to experience a truly experimental and collaborative environment. Whether you’re a lover of avant-garde music or simply looking to dive into new musical experiences, this performance will be an unforgettable journey into sound.

And the night doesn't stop there! After the concert, join us for the jam session, where musicians and music lovers are welcome to get involved and create new music on the spot. Whether you're an experienced player or just curious to explore the energy of a live jam, this is the perfect opportunity to share your creative vibe with fellow musicians. Bring your instrument, and let the spontaneous collaboration continue!

Don't miss this chance to experience music in its most organic, free-flowing form. See you there!
